Privacy Policy
Updated: July 2026 · Version 2.1
1. Data controller
BI-K Energy, represented by Marco Margotti (CEO and co-founder).
Email: margotti@bikenergy.com
Website: www.bikenergy.com
2. Data collected and purposes
This site collects usage statistics in anonymous, aggregated form (see the next point) and does not use contact forms that automatically store data. The interactions that may involve data processing are:
- Anonymous usage statistics (PostHog): we collect aggregated, pseudonymous navigation data. This means pages visited, button clicks (e.g. call requests), device and browser type, approximate geographic origin. We use it to understand how the site is used and improve it. We do not collect name, email or other identifying data through analytics, and we do not use this data for advertising profiling. Processing takes place on PostHog's European servers (eu.i.posthog.com).
- Booking a call via Calendly: name, email, any message. Processing takes place on the Calendly platform (Calendly LLC) under its own privacy policy. The data is used solely to manage the appointment.
- Direct contact by email: data provided voluntarily by email is processed to respond to your request and, subject to consent, to maintain the business relationship.
3. Legal basis
Processing is based on the data subject's consent (Art. 6(1)(a) of EU Reg. 2016/679) and on the controller's legitimate interest in managing business relationships (Art. 6(1)(f)).
4. Cookies
This site does not use profiling cookies or third-party cookies for marketing or advertising purposes. For usage statistics we use PostHog (hosted in the European Union), which may store an anonymous technical identifier in the browser (local storage or cookie) for the sole purpose of distinguishing visits in aggregate form. No data is used for profiling.
Usage statistics are enabled only after your explicit consent: until you choose, no analytics script is loaded at all. Your choice is stored in a technical cookie (bik_cookie_consent, 12-month lifetime) containing nothing but the preference value — no identifying data. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing this site's cookies in your browser.
5. Data retention
Data relating to contact requests is kept for the time strictly necessary to manage the relationship, and in any case no longer than 24 months from the last interaction.
6. Disclosure to third parties
Data is not transferred, sold or disclosed to third parties, except for strictly necessary service providers (Calendly for appointment management; PostHog for anonymous usage statistics), which act as data processors under Art. 28 GDPR.
7. Rights of the data subject
Under Articles 15–22 of EU Reg. 2016/679, the data subject has the right to:
- access their personal data;
- request its rectification or erasure;
- object to processing or request its restriction;
- request data portability;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand;
- lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (www.garanteprivacy.it).
To exercise your rights: margotti@bikenergy.com
8. Non-EU data transfers
Calendly LLC is a US company. Data transfer takes place in compliance with the safeguards provided by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and the standard contractual clauses adopted by Calendly. Data collected via PostHog for usage statistics is instead processed and stored within the European Union.
9. Changes to this policy
Any updates will be published on this page with the revision date indicated.
